SUMMARY
Our client, is seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager to lead Network Upgrade projects in a GxP pharmaceutical environment. This position will report to an internal stakeholder and involves managing multiple projects through all phases, including planning, execution, and delivery. The role also encompasses organizational change management to facilitate the adoption of new or modified systems. The position offers flexibility for remote work with a strong preference for candidates located near Wilmington, OH or Waltham, MA, with travel to Wilmington, OH required twice a year for two-week implementation periods.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end implementation of Network Upgrades, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage projects through all lifecycle phases: initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout, including “go-live” activities and hyper-care support.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and cross-functional teams in IT, Quality, Labs, and Manufacturing Operations.
- Develop and maintain project documentation such as charters, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and communication plans.
- Organize and chair project team meetings, steering committee reviews, and risk assessments; facilitate issue resolution and cutover planning.
- Monitor project performance using appropriate tools, escalate risks and issues, and track progress via systems such as Planview, SharePoint, and MS Project.
- Manage project financials and resource allocations, ensuring effective utilization and cost control.
- Ensure resource availability for project activities and support organizational change management to maximize user adoption of new systems.
- Provide regular status updates and communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with GxP practices throughout project execution and maintain adherence to corporate project management standards.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in IT project management, with a proven track record in network upgrade implementations in a GxP environment.
- Experience with vendor management and use of Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Proficiency with project management tools: Planview, Microsoft Office, MS Teams, SharePoint, and Smartsheet.
- Strong technical understanding or hands-on experience of the software development lifecycle.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional project teams through complex, matrixed situations.
- Demonstrated understanding of GxP practices within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience working within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Familiarity with project management in Quality, Labs, or Manufacturing Operations.
- Ability to travel to Wilmington, OH twice per year for two weeks during implementation periods.
