- Execute sourcing strategies for R&D categories, including CROs, study monitoring, site management, and clinical trial support suppliers across all phases of development.
- Support the execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for Clinical Development categories while meeting financial, operational, risk, quality, regulatory, and supply objectives.
- Lead sourcing activities with cross-functional teams, including RFx processes, contract and rate card negotiations, and implementation of strategic contractual infrastructure.
- Execute preferred sourcing strategies at the study level in partnership with clinical study teams.
- Monitor compliance with sourcing strategies, policies, and processes through stakeholder communication, training, and reporting of exceptions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
- Identify and drive continuous process improvement opportunities.
- Support annual savings initiatives within assigned sourcing categories.
- Deliver consistent, high-quality sourcing outcomes.
- Provide sourcing policy and process training to clinical study teams.
- Implement sourcing best practices, including preferred supplier strategies, spend analysis, RFx tools and templates, and contract management.

- Manage daily sourcing project activities, including RFx strategy development and ongoing contract negotiations.
- Develop and report operational sourcing metrics to support continuous monitoring and process improvement.
- Ensure sourcing projects have clearly defined financial and operational objectives aligned with business stakeholders.
- Partner with clinical study teams and cross-functional stakeholders to meet project timelines.
- Support continuous improvement of sourcing and financial processes.
- Perform additional sourcing-related projects and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Sciences, or a related technical field; advanced degree (MBA/MS) preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in R&D strategic sourcing, including experience supporting transformational initiatives.
- Experience within pharmaceutical or biotech R&D, with a strong understanding of new drug development.
- Experience leading and executing large, complex sourcing events within R&D; Clinical Development sourcing experience preferred.
- Experience implementing preferred sourcing or partnership strategies at the study level.
- Experience collaborating with clinical study teams and external suppliers.
- Experience developing procurement strategies aligned with R&D stakeholder needs.
- Experience negotiating supplier contracts and rate cards to maximize value and quality.
- Experience developing and managing sourcing financial KPIs.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Experience analyzing data and identifying actionable insights.
- Basic understanding of ICH E6 guidelines.
- Familiarity with emerging procurement technologies.
