Senior Specialist, Environmental, Health and Safety – Individual Contributor

EH&S Specialist

A medical device manufacturing organization is hiring an EH&S Specialist to support environmental, health, and safety programs at its Mahwah, NJ site. This role partners with operations and site leadership to maintain compliance programs, support risk reduction initiatives, and contribute to a safe manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain EH&S management systems aligned with internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Support EH&S training programs for employees and site teams
• Conduct inspections, audits, and compliance reviews
• Prepare EH&S reports, metrics, and documentation
• Support emergency response planning and coordination activities
• Participate in incident investigations and trend analysis
• Review operational or process changes for EH&S impact
• Support risk assessment and corrective action programs
• Monitor OSHA and environmental compliance requirements
• Coordinate waste management and environmental monitoring activities
• Contribute to site EH&S projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support safety and environmental objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EH&S Management or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of EH&S experience focused on risk assessment, OSHA compliance, or emergency response
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 preferred
• Experience supporting audits, investigations, and training programs preferred

Additional Certifications (Preferred)

• First Aid and CPR
• Hazardous Materials Technician
• Incident Command training
• Respirator clearance certification
