Consultant, Senior Project Manager – Global Capital Projects, Construction Summary Our client, a Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical Company, has engaged GForce Life Sciences to provide a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale capital projects domestically and internationally, including a major international office development. This role operates as a sole practitioner (owner’s representative) responsible for delivering projects cradle-to-grave with full accountability for scope, cost, schedule, and execution quality. In addition to the international program as the primary assignment, the Senior Project Manager may be responsible for managing up to three concurrent projects of smaller scope, depending on phase, complexity, and business priorities. The role operates within a matrixed environment and requires high collaboration with Global Procurement, Workplace Strategy & Planning, Engineering, IT, Security, and Legal, while leading external consultants, contractors, and vendors to successful delivery.
Job Duties
Lead full lifecycle delivery (initiation through closeout) as the owner’s representative.
Direct and manage external design teams, contractors, and vendors throughout all phases of delivery.
Drive scope definition, basis of design, procurement strategy coordination, construction administration, commissioning/turnover, and closeout.
Develop, manage, and report owner-side project schedules in Microsoft Project.
Maintain critical path, dependencies, milestones, and schedule risk/variance analysis.
Establish and maintain practical project controls aligned to the delivery model (design-bid-build, design-build, CM, turnkey, etc.).
Own project budgets, forecasting, and cash flow projections; track commitments and actuals.
Lead change control and cost validation; provide clear financial reporting to stakeholders.
Coordinate procurement strategy and contracting actions with Global Procurement and Legal.
Lead execution of projects across international jurisdictions with regional partners and vendors.
Navigate local regulatory and cultural considerations while ensuring alignment with global standards.
Support delivery planning and execution readiness for phased overseas programs.
Demonstrate strong ability to influence and align stakeholders in a large, matrixed corporate environment.
Drive decision-making, escalation, and issue resolution while maintaining stakeholder alignment.
Sole practitioner role (no direct reports) expected to run projects cradle-to-grave with limited internal controls support.
Supported by Global Procurement, Workplace Strategy & Planning (finishes/logistics), Security, IT, and Engineering.
Portfolio expectations may include the international project as primary plus up to three smaller concurrent projects.
Mandatory Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
15–20 years of capital project delivery experience (minimum 15 years).
