Overview
Responsible for performing and coordinating global procurement of raw materials for specific product lines to support master schedules and customer order requirements. This role is primarily focused on strategic purchasing activities to optimize inventory management.
Requirements
- Work closely with Supply Planning to place purchase orders and reschedule raw materials to support production plans and optimize inventory
- Establish and maintain supplier relationships and partnerships
- Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing data to support decisions impacting production, staff, or processes
- Identify and implement cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities
- Review and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders while implementing procurement strategies, policies, and procedures and managing associated risks
- Serve as the key point of contact for authorized requesters, managers, and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve purchase requisition and purchase order issues
- Prioritize assignments effectively while managing key tasks within limited time and resources
- Resolve supplier quality, pricing, and delivery issues
- Interface with Accounts Payable and internal customers to resolve invoice and receiving discrepancies
- Maintain project progress and critical task completion when delays or issues arise
- Take a leadership role in improving processes
- Work with minimal supervision while supporting less experienced team members
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations, Quality Management System processes and requirements, and demonstrate ethics and integrity at all organizational levels

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
- Experience using SAP or a related MRP system
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, BOMs, and planning processes
- Experience with lean principles and supply chain management, including material flow and delivery applications
- Understanding of manufacturing, purchasing, scheduling, and planning processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Experience developing and implementing ordering policies
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative working relationships across all levels of the organization and with suppliers
- Ability to think independently and solve problems in a fast-changing production environment
- Strong judgment and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Teams, and Outlook
- Knowledge of medical device supply base operations
- Medical device manufacturing experience
- APICS or other industry certifications
- Extended periods of computer use
- Extended periods of sitting or standing
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
