Medical Writer 12-Month Contract Remote Must be able to work on a W2
Position Summary Our client, a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Medical Writer to develop clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate medical content across digital platforms and field materials. This individual will translate complex scientific and clinical data into engaging content for healthcare professionals while supporting payer-facing materials, publications-related projects, and omnichannel content initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Write and adapt branded and unbranded Disease State Education (DSE) content for HCP-facing digital platforms, infographics, and field materials.
Support payer- and managed-markets-facing content in collaboration with payer and Managed Market Liaison (MML) stakeholders.
Provide publications-adjacent writing support, including encores, derivative content, and abstract-based materials.
Author content in accordance with medical and promotional review (MRC/PRC) standards and incorporate reviewer feedback through formal review cycles.
Partner with project management to maintain content calendars and ensure consistent, on-time delivery of platform resources.
Interpret and translate scientific and clinical data into clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate content.
Contribute to the development and expansion of omnichannel and modular content capabilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required; terminal scientific degree preferred.
Background in Neuroscience or Nephrology required; Rare Disease experience is a plus.
2–3 years of prior experience as a Medical Writer.
Experience finding, reading, interpreting, and presenting scientific and clinical data.
Experience with graphic design.
Experience with reference management and copyright permissions.
Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail and grammar.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat.
Experience developing omnichannel content is preferred.
Experience with modular or componentized content models is preferred.
Experience creating payer- or managed-markets-facing content is preferred.
Publications experience, including encores, abstracts, or manuscript-derived content, is preferred.
Working knowledge of content/document management platforms such as Veeva Vault and medical/promotional review workflows is preferred.
