Summary 
Our client, a global leader in medical supplies and devices, has engaged GForce Life Sciences to provide a hands-on Analytical Chemist to support R&D efforts within a pharmaceutical environment. This role is focused on analytical method development and troubleshooting for small molecule products, with a strong emphasis on techniques such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, and titrations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced lab setting and can independently design, optimize, and refine analytical methods.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize analytical methods for drug substances and products
  • Perform hands-on laboratory work using HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, and titration techniques
  • Troubleshoot method performance issues (e.g., resolution, sensitivity, reproducibility)
  • Analyze and interpret data to support R&D and formulation teams
  • Document experimental work, protocols, and results in accordance with GMP/GLP standards

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or related field (no biochemistry-focused backgrounds)
  • 6+ years of hands-on analytical lab experience
  • Strong experience with method development (not just method execution)
  • Proficiency with HPLC and/or GC required; experience with FTIR, UV-Vis, and titrations preferred
  • Background in pharmaceutical industry preferred; medical device experience with pharma exposure also considered
  • Small molecule experience

Terms & Start 
  • 12+ month contract
  • Onsite 5 days/week in Cary, IL
  • Start ASAP

Pay rate: 38/hr
